Department of Education layoffs affect student loans

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Wednesday, March 12, hundreds of users reported, StudentAid.gov, the federal website for student loans and financial was down. The website had technical issues including students not being able to apply for FAFSA

Prior to this site malfunction, there were several layoffs the day before with the developers and IT support staff who worked on FAFSA in the Education Department.
