School takeover bill passes subcommittee

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A bill that would allow the state to take over Memphis-Shelby County Schools is advancing.

The bill passed the K-12 subcommittee on Tuesday with a 6-2 vote.

The bill will now head to the Education Committee before going to the House for a vote…
