CAROLINA FOREST, S.C. (WPDE) — A masticator, a machine crews are using for the mastication project.
On Monday morning crews started working around the southern portion of the Covington Drive fire area, creating a 30-foot defensible space between the houses and the fire by grinding up flammable material and turning it into mulch.
