Suspect arrested after fatal domestic disturbance in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — On March 18, officers with the Jacksonville Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Franklin Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a female victim, identified as 36-year-old Tonja Roper, who had sustained stab wounds during the incident. She later succumbed to her injuries.

The suspect, 38-year-old Kenneth Parker, was taken into custody at the scene. He was charged with capital murder, first-degree terroristic threatening, aggravated assault on a family or household member, two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and intimidating a witness…
