Winter storm watch expands to Twin Cities; heavy snow, high winds Wednesday

We mentioned it was a possibility in our morning weather blog, and now the National Weather Service has expanded the winter storm watch to include Dakota, Scott and Washington counties in the Twin Cities metro area.

“Confidence continues to increase in a band of heavy snow developing across the region late Tuesday night into Wednesday. This will start as rain, and quickly transition to a heavy, wet snow, with snowfall rates of an inch per hour or greater,” the NWS says.
