Whataburger Fans Celebrate Colorado Getting Another One

There’s no denying that many Coloradans love Whataburger. The mention of the state getting another one can send some into a tither; others aren’t as excited.

Whataburger Bringing 9th Location to Southern Colorado

With all the burger joints that you’ll find in Colorado, the big chains, the Mom & Pop restaurants, Colorado’s own Smashburger, Coloradans still get a bump of excitement over a new Whataburger coming to Colorado.

The first Whataburger opened in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1950. The first Colorado location, in Colorado Springs on Interquest Parkway, opened in February of 2022.

Little Fountain, Colorado, will be getting its own Whataburger. With about 30,000 people in the town, there are more than a few places to get a burger including Culvers and Smashburger. Whataburger just does seem to love the Colorado Springs area.

As of spring of 2025, there are six Whataburgers in Colorado Springs, and one in Monument. In September of 2024, we let you know a Whataburger would be coming to Pueblo. Maybe it’s because Southern Colorado is closer to Texas is the reason all the new ones are going there…
