KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The owner of a Knoxville tavern said her business is facing backlash after a separate bar with a similar name in Indianapolis kicked a person out for intentionally misgendering and harassing a bartender.
Dora Jennings, the owner of the Chatterbox Tavern in Knoxville, said her business was tagged in a post on social media that showed a video from a separate bar hundreds of miles away.
The video was filmed at the “Chatterbox Jazz Club” in Indianapolis. It showed a confrontation between bartenders and a customer who identified themself as a supporter of President Donald Trump. The video also showed bartenders grabbing a bat as the confrontation escalated, eventually saying the customer was being kicked out for “wearing a Trump hat.”…
