DENVER ( KDVR ) — A suspect was arrested in connection to the murder of a woman in Colorado after an almost 18-year-old cold case .
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said Darrell Burklund, 72, was arrested on Friday in York, Nebraska in connection to the murder of 25-year-old mother, Jessica Bejarano.
The bureau said investigators obtained DNA evidence that led to a potential match to Burklund. After a follow-up interview on Friday, Burklund was arrested and taken into custody at the York County Sheriff’s Detention Center and faces a charge of second-degree murder.
