Students, parents share concerns about Dept. of Education cuts during ‘walk-in’ at Grand Rapids high school

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Educators and parents held a “walk-in” at Grand Rapids’ Union High School Wednesday to protest cuts at the Department of Education.

The group gathered in front of the school and heard from local leaders as well as students. They then walked into the school with staff.

It was part of a nationwide walk-in effort organized by the National Education Association, an organization that aims to serve as “the voice of education professionals.”…
