These Bay Area high schools had some of the highest acceptance rates to top CSUs

Students from several Bay Area high schools had some of the highest acceptance rates in the state for the two most selective California State University campuses.

According to recent admissions data from the CSU system and a data visualization from the San Francisco Chronicle , Cal Poly San Luis Obispo was the most competitive campus for applicants this academic year. (The Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by Hearst but have separate newsrooms.) The campus’s acceptance rate for fall 2024 was 30.1%, and the average acceptance rate for students from California high schools was 28%.
