OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – On Wednesday, Governor Kevin Stitt announced he will enter the lawsuit challenging Tulsa’s police powers within the State of Oklahoma.
Stitt said on his social media “X” platform, “as Governor, I have to do for what’s best for Oklahoma. I can’t sit back and allow Tulsa to give away the State’s power to enforce laws.”
The motion filed by the Governor seeks to intervene in the Muscogee Creek Nation v. City of Tulsa lawsuit. According to Governor Stitt, Muscogee Nation brought a lawsuit against the City of Tulsa for enforcing the municipal laws, namely traffic laws, against tribal members.
