North Charleston Police chase reaches speeds of 90 mph; man facing charges

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A man is back behind bars and facing several charges in connection to a high-speed police chase.

Jarid Allen Williams, 24, of North Charleston, is charged with failure to stop for blue lights, reckless driving, driving under suspension, driving without vehicular insurance and violating the Habitual Traffic Offender Act.

The slew of charges stem from a Wednesday evening incident in which North Charleston Police officers were patrolling in the area of Meeting Street Road and Comstock Avenue.

It was there that police say they spotted a green dirt-bike style motorcycle make a sudden turn onto Beech Avenue without signaling. As they drove up behind the motorcycle, they watched as it “recklessly accelerated down Beech Avenue.”…
