Late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel and Tesla CEO Elon Musk traded barbs this week, sparking online chatter. Kimmel took aim at Musk on two consecutive episodes of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
initially referencing Musk’s chainsaw-wielding appearance at a Trump rally and linking it to recent layoffs at Tesla. “When you pull out a chainsaw to celebrate firing thousands of people, they get mad!”
Kimmel quipped.
Musk fired back on X, calling Kimmel an “unfunny jerk.”
Undeterred, Kimmel doubled down the following night, highlighting the recent recall of nearly 46,000 Cybertrucks. He joked about the number of recalls since the vehicle’s November 2023 release and the recent arson attacks on Tesla facilities.
“Authorities are now investigating which Teslas were set on fire — and which set themselves on fire,” Kimmel joked. He also pointed out the irony of some groups protesting the Tesla attacks while seemingly condoning other acts of violence.
Musk has yet to respond to Kimmel’s second round of jokes.
