5 more teens located in Capital Region rescue operation

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — The Capital Region’s first ever missing child rescue operation has successfully located five more missing teenagers, bringing the total number to 69. All five were girls ranging in age from 13 to 17, officials said.

Federal, state and local law enforcement officials set up a command center in Latham last week and combined resources to solve the cases.

“Out of my 20-year career at the Missing Persons Clearinghouse, this has been the most significant and meaningful event that we’ve ever done,” Cindy Neff, manager of the New York State Missing Persons Clearinghouse., previously told NEWS10.
