$30K Reward Offered for Information on Cudahy Bike Ride Murder, LA County Sheriff Seeks Public’s Help

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has announced a $30,000 reward for information leading to the capture of suspects involved in the murder of Jose Manuel Rangel, who was shot and killed while riding his bike in Cudahy in May 2023. According to CBS News Los Angeles, the 32-year-old was heading home from a Mother’s Day visit with his mother, soon thereafter at around 4:00 p.m. on May 14, he was fatally shot on the Clara Street Bridge amid a confrontation that turned physical.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau is actively seeking the assistance of the public to identify and locate the men responsible for the murder, with Lt. Daniel Vizcarra expressing the urgency of the situation and the family’s plight for answers.”When we got the call, it was unbelievable and even now it’s hard to believe, we just hope that if anybody has information regarding what’s happened, please speak up and give us peace,” Rangel’s brother, Juan Carlos Ponce, told CBS News Los Angeles. The suspects are described as two Hispanic males in their late 20s to early 30s, one last seen wearing a blue hat, black shirt, dark-colored jeans, and a surgical mask, while the other wore a black shirt and red shorts.

This fatal altercation has left Rangel’s family and friends reeling, with moving words shared by his sister at a recent press conference, stating, “Jose saved my life many times, but I wasn’t there to save his life that day. So all I can do now is pray and have faith that someone would come forward,” as cited by KTLA. The City of Cudahy has combined efforts with the LA County Board of Supervisors offering a $10,000 and $20,000 reward respectively…
