Los Angeles Bus Riders Face Massive Delays: Analysis Shows Key Routes Causing Major Slowdowns

A new analysis by Streets for All reveals that Los Angeles Metro bus riders face cumulative delays totaling over a decade on an average weekday. The report found that bus riders experience around 5.54 million minutes of delays each weekday, equating to approximately 10.5 years.

While morning traffic flows more smoothly, certain routes disproportionately cause delays. Just 5% of routes contribute to 30% of total delays, particularly stretches of Vermont Avenue, Van Nuys Boulevard, Wilshire Boulevard, and 3rd Street.

According to Streets for All, improving these high-demand transportation corridors could significantly enhance overall system efficiency. A Metro spokesperson has not yet commented on the findings.
