SAN DIEGO — The family of a 22-year-old San Diego State University graduate filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Six Flags Magic Mountain after he collapsed and died following a ride on the theme park’s X-2 roller coaster.
Christopher Hawley visited the Valencia amusement park with his brother and cousin in 2022, just one month after graduating with a theater arts degree. According to the family’s attorney, Ari Friedman with Wisner Baum, Hawley collapsed within minutes of exiting the “4th Dimension” roller coaster known as X-2.
“They all complained about how rough it was, how jarring it was,” Friedman said. “And then Christopher got off, and within a minute, had collapsed and was unconscious.”…
