ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Resident Hunters of Alaska and the Alaska Board of Game meeting converged at the Egan Center over the weekend, the mood varying widely between the two.
RHAK’s yearly gathering began in the evening, a cash bar, live auction and dinner all part of the celebration. Mark Richards, Executive Director of the organization, said since forming in 2016 RHAK has aimed to advocate for sustainable hunting specifically for Alaska residents.
“I love the banquet; I love coming and meeting all of our members. I enjoy it and I go to all the Board of Game meetings,” Richards said. The Board of Game meeting wrapped up for the day downstairs just as the banquet began on the ground level. “Part of my job is to attend all of the board of game meetings, I also attend big game commercial services board meetings, federal citizens board meetings for organization, and we also lobby in Juneau.”…
