Gov. Cox’s comments on labor bill called ‘misleading,’ ‘disingenuous’

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Governor Cox’s public comments on the contentious bill banning collective bargaining for public workers — which set off an ongoing petition drive to reverse the measure — are being called “misleading” and “disingenuous” by labor groups.

Last week, 2News asked the governor why he signed the bill.

“There’s a lot that goes into that,” he replied, during his monthly PBS Utah news conference. “Again, I said I had some problems with the bill. I didn’t love it. I wish there would have been an opportunity for us to bring back on the table the deal that was out there in the first place. Honestly, we probably could have gotten there if we had more time.”…
