The Denver to Red Rocks version of the Rocky Mountaineer luxury excursion train has taken on a new name and added Salt Lake City to its route, starting next year.
Under its new name, Canyon Spirit, it will operate once a week in each direction between Denver and Salt Lake, taking three days for the scenic journey through sandstone and canyon country. The extension adds view of the Great Basin in eastern Utah, and will start April 21, 2026.
The U.S. train has been running since 2021; its parent company, Armstrong Collective, has been running Rocky Mountaineer trains in the Canadian Rockies for 35 years; the new name will give it a distinctive identity…
