ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Despite the quieter weather, avalanche danger continues to remain dangerous across Southcentral. An unpredictable weak layer remains buried two to three feet deep, with the likelihood that humans could trigger additional large avalanches. The springtime warmth will stay with us this week, keeping avalanche conditions on the higher side, with unsettled weather in the Gulf of Alaska.
SOUTHCENTRAL:
Sunshine for the first part of the morning will remain for parts of Southcentral, although clouds will quickly increase throughout the day. This comes as unsettled weather remains in gulf, with coastal showers and wintry mix sticking around. While scattered to periodic activity is expected for coastal regions, inland areas will see a slight chance for light snow or wintry mix tonight into early Tuesday.
