KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Prosecutors charged a Missouri man who was shot and injured by Kansas City police Friday afternoon.
Steven Dockins, of Merriam Woods, is charged with the following crimes:
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- First-degree tampering with a motor vehicle
- Resisting a lawful stop
According to a probable cause statement, police tried to stop Dockins on a traffic violation near Indiana Avenue and Independence Avenue on March 21. Officers said Dockins kept refused to stop. The officers continued to follow Dockins after they determined the car he drove had been reported stolen.
