3-month-old girl hospitalized with fractured skull after her father, who was a fire chief, “lost his cool” because she was crying and threw her on the ground; father charged

Pennsylvania – In a deeply unsettling incident in Pennsylvania, a 36-year-old father, identified as B. Salt, has been charged with aggravated assault following a severe injury inflicted upon his three-month-old daughter. This shocking act of violence occurred after Salt became frustrated and lost his temper with the infant as she couldn’t stop crying.

On March 12, police were summoned to a children’s hospital, where they discovered that the young child had suffered a skull fracture on the right side of the rear of her head. According to Detective D. O’Connell from the police department, the baby also exhibited unexplained bleeding around the eye and marks on her legs. Medical staff and investigators initially received no clear explanation for the injuries from the child’s parents, which prompted further scrutiny by law enforcement.

During a subsequent interview with the authorities, Salt reportedly confessed to the act. He described a day when his daughter, who had colic, was inconsolable while his wife was at work.
