- When units arrived, they found a white Scion with major front end damage and its driver still in the car.
- Firefighter paramedics attended to the patient, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
- According to a witness, speed was a factor (SOT)
- According to CHP, the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the semi, killing the driver.
- It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
