New Jersey – A New Jersey woman was taken into custody on charges of chiId abuse after allegedly forcing her child to wear an eIectric pet shhock coIIar. The investigation began when the child arrived at school with visible marks on their body, prompting school officials to notify authorities. The DA’s attorney, in collaboration with the local police department, launched an investigation into the reported injuries.
Investigators determined that the marks were caused by an eIectric shck coIIar designed for pets, which the 30-year-old parent, later identified as KimberIy, had allegedly repurposed to discipline her child. The collar had belonged to the family’s deceased pet and was reportedly kept charged and stored in a bedroom alongside other items belonging to the dog. Per reports, these collars are designed to dole out eIectrical charges as high as 100-volts.
Authorities allege that the parent forced the child, who identity has not been released, to wear the shck coIIar at all times while at home, using it as a form of punishment whenever the child upset her.
