Power outages, water leaks, no A/C hit Shelby Co. criminal justice center, jail

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Ongoing issues at the aging Shelby County Jail and Walter Bailey Criminal Justice Center continue.

Attorneys, Walter Bailey Criminal Justice Center employees, and families of loved ones in the Shelby County Jail raised concerns with Action News 5, saying there was no air conditioning all day and no power, for a brief period of time, Tuesday.

MLGW told Action News 5 there was a circuit down at the substation around 10:45 this morning causing the power outage in areas of downtown Memphis, that appears to be resolved…
