Richmond correcting mistake on rebate checks mailed out to residents

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) -The City of Richmond is working to correct a mistake on property tax rebate checks. The wrong names were printed on them.

The city sent checks to several thousand residents with an incorrect name printed on them. The city’s Department of Finance says it’s canceling and reissuing the affected checks.

The four-cent rebate is designed to benefit property owners in Richmond. Officials say there are no concerns of identity theft or misuse of personal data, and no taxpayer information has been released or compromised in any way…
