PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A large fire that broke out at a scrapyard in southwest Phoenix late Tuesday morning has been extinguished, but an area roadway will remain closed as crews monitor hotspots.
The fire was first reported around 11:30 a.m. at a business near 23rd Avenue and Broadway Road. Firefighters found a large fire in an automotive scrapyard and quickly upgraded the call to a first-alarm response, requesting additional resources.
