AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is under scrutiny following two majorcrashes on Interstate 35 in the Austin area that resulted in six people dead since mid-March.
The first incident, on March 14, involved an 18-car pileup that left five people dead, including a baby and another child. The crash was allegedly caused by a semi-truck driver under the influence who failed to slow down in a work zone.
