Employee of Smoke Shop Arrested on Suspicion of Assault

LINCOLN–(KFOR Mar. 26)–An employee of a downtown Lincoln smoke shop has been arrested after he allegedly assaulted another man on the sidewalk on Monday afternoon.

LPD public information manager Erika Thomas says someone called and reported that a 37-year-old man was being yelled at by an employee, later identified as 21-year-old Waleed Assaidi. Thomas says the caller reported Assaidi hit the victim several times with the handle of a snow shovel in the head and his hands. The victim told police he was hit with the blade of the shovel, too. He suffered injuries to his head and area of his right eye…
