New York Congressman Confirms Southern Tier Social Security Administration Office will Remain Open, Despite DOGE Listing Office for Termination

WASHINGTON, D.C. – New York Congressman Nick Langworthy (R- NY) shares the Social Security Administration office in Horseheads, NY will not be closing. He confirmed this information following the Department of Government Efficiency listing that the lease for that office would be terminated.

Here is the full statement from the Congressman:

“There has been a lot of misinformation, but I want to set the record straight based on confirmation directly from the SSA that the Horseheads office will not be closing, nor will there be any reductions in staff. They are simply terminating the lease of an additional space that was once used for hearings and is no longer needed. Terminating this lease for unused space will have zero impact on the office’s operations, but it will save taxpayer dollars that are being wasted on an empty space. I will always fight to protect seniors’ Social Security benefits and accessibility to this critical federal office, but it’s important to separate the facts from the fiction and those who want to advance their political agenda.”…
