JCPS teacher struck and killed by car remembered by his community

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – An open mic turned into a tool for closure Wednesday night, as community members close to Marrquon Bartee honored his life.

Bartee was struck by a vehicle on Hurstbourne Parkway on the night of Wednesday, March 19. He was taken to UofL Hospital where he died early the next day.

“It’s just hard for me to accept that he’s gone,” his sister Avery Hazard said. “Every morning for a split second I forget he’s gone. Once I remember again my world shatters.”…
