NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – During a House Criminal Justice Subcommittee hearing, Rep. Justin Pearson (D-Memphis) took the stand to speak on a gun reform bill but later turned to confront Rep. Andrew Farmer (R-Sevierville), which led to the hearing going into recess Wednesday morning.
Originally, Pearson was on the stand to speak on HB1392, which aims to amend Tennessee’s permitless carry law.
At some point during the hearing, Farmer seemingly questioned Pearson’s recent absence from the House. The Memphis Democrat responded during his time at the stand, saying he was dealing with the aftermath of his brother’s death by suicide…
