Sporting an extensive cast and crew, the Toll Gate High School Drama Club will perform “The Alibis: 8 Short Comedies and Crime” Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Robert J. Shapiro Cultural Arts Center at Toll Gate.
The show is the product of eight playwrights who were challenged to find the comedy in crime in this rogue’s gallery of 10-minute plays wrapped in a classic whodunnit. When eccentric billionaire J. Leslie Arlington is murdered, a clueless detective finds the suspects are all reluctant to admit their alibis … because they were all committing other ridiculous crimes at the time. This humorous tale is being staged with the assistance of Drama Club advisors Georgia Testa and Darlene Netcoh. Testa is directing the play with the assistance of senior Rebecca Farias, the student director. Senior Lena Butera is leading the prop design and backstage crew.
