The Texas police force mourns a heavy loss as they recently held a funeral for a fallen officer. This devoted public servant paid the ultimate price after giving his life to save the lives of many. I am, of course, referring to Azi, the 2-year-old police dog.
A Salute to Those Who Serve
The McKinney Police Department took a blow with the recent passing of Azi, a Belgian Malinois who was just two years old when he was killed in action.
They took to Facebook in a post memorializing Azi and his role in keeping the community safe.
McKinney PD also highlighted the importance of K9 units on the force by saying they play an essential role in the success of the department.

Just who was Azi? His reputation speaks for itself, since he was just born in January of 2023 and already had a laundry list of accomplishments. Azi was deployed 62 times in a multitude of missions from patrols and burglaries to homicides, but he was most known for his keen nose in sniffing out illegal narcotics…
