ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Antonio Nevitt, 52, for hitting a woman with a machine gun and strangling her during a home invasion, according to court records.
On March 25, around midnight, officers responded to the 500 block of Locust Street for reports of a man with a firearm. On the 911 call, men could be heard saying “shoot em Tony,” police reported.
The victim told authorities that residents of the house accused Nevitt of stealing $300 from the house before the incident. The suspect escalated the situation by grabbing the woman by the neck, pushing her into a corner and hitting her with the barrel of his gun, court documents show…
