Legendary singer Johnny Mathis, known for his timeless romantic ballads, is retiring from touring. The 89-year-old crooner’s team announced the news, citing age and memory issues.

Mathis, who turns 90 this year, will complete his current “Voice of Romance Tour,” concluding with a final performance on May 18, 2025, at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey. All subsequent concerts have been cancelled.

Mathis’s career has spanned over seven decades, producing hits like “Chances Are,” “Misty,” and “It’s Not for Me to Say.” He began his current tour in September 2024 and has continued to impress audiences. Recent concertgoers praised his performance, describing him as “amazing” and “still singing beautifully.”

The singer has earned five Grammy nominations and three Grammy Hall of Fame inductions. He holds the distinction of being Columbia Records’ longest-signed recording artist. In a statement, Mathis and his team expressed “heartfelt gratitude” to fans worldwide for their unwavering support.
