Ohio woman overnights $23,000 for ‘verification purposes’ after chat with ‘CIA agent’

TRUMBULL COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – An Ohio woman overnighted $23,000 for “verification purposes” in the latest PayPal scam affecting Ohioans.

According to WFMJ, authorities are warning residents in Trumbull and Mahoning counties about internet scams after a woman lost $23,000 when she received an email she believed was from PayPal.

After opening the email, which claimed she owed $300, she called a provided number and connected with a man who identified himself as “Alex Rodger,” WFMJ reported…
