Two Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Leads to Foot Chase in Minneapolis, MPD Hails Officers for Quick Action

Two individuals were taken into custody following a foot chase in Minneapolis after the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) spotted a stolen vehicle through their automated license plate recognition system. According to a social media post from MPD, officers on routine patrol received an LPR alert on an occupied stolen car.

Upon the officers’ arrival at the scene, they witnessed an individual standing by the vehicle with another person. As police lights were activated, both suspects tried to leave the scene but were quickly apprehended by officers. One suspect was found with suspected narcotics, while the other had disposed of the keys to the stolen vehicle before officers could take them into custody. Both suspects were subsequently booked at Hennepin County Jail, one for possession of narcotics and the other for receiving and concealing stolen goods.

The MPD used its official Facebook page to acknowledge the work of its officers.
