SANFORD, NC (WOWK) — The remains of a World War II sailor who was killed at Pearl Harbor while serving on the USS West Virginia will be returning home Thursday.
Mess Attendant 3rd Class Neil Daniel Frye was killed on December 7, 1941, on the USS West Virginia and his remains were recovered last summer, according to Terry McMillian, who is Frye’s first cousin.
