ELLIJAY, Ga. (WBTV) – A murder victim who was found dead in Georgia nearly 40 years ago was a Charlotte native, DNA evidence recently revealed.
The victim — who has since been identified as David Clary — was found near Ellijay, Ga., which is a mountainous area about an hour and a half north of Atlanta. Hunters came across Clary’s body in the woods on Aug. 9, 1986.
After his body was found, investigators in Georgia declared Clary’s death a homicide, but for decades were unable to identify the remains…
