Houston’s Solid Waste Management Director Mark Wilfalk has resigned from his position, Mayor John Whitmire wrote in a memo to city council members Friday afternoon.
Wilfalk has led the long-troubled city department since October 2021 after being appointed by former Mayor Sylvester Turner. He came to Houston after leading Tampa’s Solid Waste department since 2014.
