Consumers Energy mobilizes 600 crews for possible MI storm outages

JACKSON, Mich. (WNEM) – Consumers Energy said it was mobilizing 600 crews ahead of several weekend storms in Michigan.

The utility announced on Friday it wanted to be ready for potential outages with a wave of storms that could produce icy conditions and wind gusts over 50 miles per hour.

Consumers said mobile storm units that move supplies closer to crews in the field were set up in Cadillac, Houghton Lake and Gaylord…
