Firefighters battling western N.C. blazes get a little help from the weather

Crews battling wildfires that have burned for over a week in western North Carolina got a little help from the weather overnight, state officials said Saturday.

Humidity, cloud cover and lighter winds enabled firefighters to strengthen containment lines Friday night into Saturday, the North Carolina Forest Service said in a news release.
