Pembroke man charged with murder, concealment of death day after body found in woods

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — A Pembroke man was arrested at his job on Friday and charged with first-degree murder and felony concealment of death, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office said.

Christopher Britt, 51, is being held without bond at the Robeson County Detention Center in connection with the death of Surron Jones, 50, of Pembroke.

Deputies were notified Friday that Jones had not been seen since the day before. Investigators and the agency’s aviation division searched in the area of Ollins Way Drive in Pembroke, where Jones’ body was found in a wooded location…
