Damage, power outages: Sunday storms roll through northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan

TOLEDO, Ohio — A fast-moving storm spring storm system spurred dozens of damage reports on Sunday night throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

Downed trees and powerlines appeared to be the majority of the damage issues, many from the straight-line winds with gusts up to 70 mph that blew through the area starting just after 5 p.m.

As of 7:20 p.m., reports of downed power lines were received at several locations in Lucas County, including the softball field at Whitmer High School…
