My dad taught me to always keep my tank filled up, my tires inflated, and my car’s maintenance up-to-date. Why? I assumed it was so I’d always be ready for a sudden trip or emergency. Not a police chase. But who knows? Apparently Jonathan Chapa of Nashville, Tennessee never learned this lesson.
On Friday March 29th, Nashville Metro Police noticed Chapa was not only driving with a temporary Tennessee tag instead of a license plate. But he had it installed under a smoked license plate cover which made it entirely illegible. That may be a good way to keep from paying tolls. But it’s also a good way to get pulled over. And that’s exactly what happened.
When police signaled for Chapa to pull over, he floored it. Chapa and his passenger may even have thought they were getting away. But I guess they’ve never heard of a police helicopter either. Nashville police pulled back because Air-1 was hot on the suspects’ tail…
