Forecasting bird migration with BirdCast

One of the many great tools developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and its partners is BirdCast (birdcast.info/). BirdCast provides real-time predictions of bird migrations: when they migrate, where they migrate and how far they will be flying. Now is the perfect time of year to check out this amazing set of tools.

The peak migration period for birds in Idaho is May 2 to June 1. Some of the earliest migrants in Ada and Canyon counties include the turkey vulture (first birds arriving Feb. 15), Nashville warbler (April 1), bank swallow (April 1), Lewis’s woodpecker (April 8) and western kingbird (April 8)…
