Man Charged with Stealing from Cobb Fire Department

Daniel Scott Trapp, 35, of Cartersville, is accused of stealing property from the Cobb County Fire Department on March 1 at 3:43 a.m. at Cobb County Fire Station 4, 1901 Cumberland Parkway in Atlanta, according to an arrest warrant from the Cobb County Police Department.

After resigning in lieu of termination on Feb. 28, Trapp took one set of turnout gear, valued at $3,200; a lieutenant badge, valued at $150; and one raincoat, valued at $150. At the time of termination, Trapp was advised not to return to Station 4 and to meet with CCFD investigators to return his equipment and gear. When confronted about the removal, Trapp said he could not remember recently visiting the location. Video surveillance and ID logs refuted those statements and Trapp ended all contact with investigators on March 7, according to the warrant.

Trapp is charged with theft by taking – greater than $1,500; false statements/writings – concealment of facts; and burglary – second degree. He was arrested on March 20 at 9 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records…
