TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County Sheriff’s deputy has received a 10-day suspension after an internal investigation found he violated “use of force.”
The investigation was prompted by Jalin Hands, who claimed Deputy Richard Strong choked him during an altercation between him and his girlfriend outside a Toledo bar, and it’s not the first time Strong has faced complaints regarding his behavior.
According to the Internal Affairs investigative report released by the sheriff’s office Monday, Strong agreed to a charge of “use of force” and two other charges. The report says charges of “inattention/carelessness in performance of duty” and “language” were dismissed…
